About the event

Joined by special guest, Tony Vaughan MP, the first MP of Filipino heritage in the Houses of Parliament and a pre-eminent human rights barrister, we are hosting an evening in the Palace of Westminster with a panel of esteemed experts to discuss the new Labour government's immigration policies and the steps it plans to take to counter exploitative working practices, and the direct impacts of these on the ESEA community.

Objectives:

  • Understand and evaluate the new government’s plans for immigration and preventing exploitative working practices.

  • Understand the impact of UK immigration and safeguarding policy on ESEA migrants and other vulnerable groups.

  • Understand the rise of increasingly sophisticated methods of trafficking and exploitation, particularly among Southeast Asians.

  • Provide insight into the impact of human trafficking on victims in the UK.
